The Sanctuary, an independent arts-based not-for-profit organization, has been a cornerstone for artists and creatives in and around Northampton since its inception. Established in 2002, our gallery and studio complex has been operational since 2003, serving as a hub for studio resources and exhibition opportunities within the artistic community.

In March 2024, we embarked on an exciting new journey as we transition to a new location. Formerly situated at the Mounts, we are now making our home at The Depot in Weedon Bec, reaffirming our dedication to supporting local artists and nurturing creativity.

Our new space at The Depot will boast eight dedicated artist studio units set amidst a tranquil and inspiring atmosphere, fostering creativity and facilitating the growth of our resident artists.

At this new address, The Sanctuary will offer a variety of studio resources, including the aforementioned eight dedicated studios. Furthermore, we will continue our tradition of showcasing the work of resident artists as well as creatives from diverse disciplines.

Despite this relocation, our commitment to upholding a standard of excellence in studio resources remains unwavering. We are devoted to assisting all our members in their artistic and professional development, providing a platform for their work to be both seen and valued.

Throughout its existence, The Sanctuary has served as a nexus for the exchange of information, skills, and ideas among artists, reflecting the diversity and strengths of our community. Our space serves as a local forum for provocative and challenging art, offering exposure and support to emerging and established artists alike.
